During and following the ‘Pillar of Defense’ operation in Gaza, the international media had Israel in flames.  Ariel Zinger, an Israeli graphic designer made a new and more relevant version of his info graphic  comparing the Syrian war with Pillar of defense alongside with a simple question: Is Syrian citizens blood cheaper?

Introducing: world hypocrisy

How come there was so much international intervention in a mere 8 days of war while not half of the resources spent on High-profile Gaza, was dedicated to heavily distressed Syria?

The last 7 days in Israel have been hell on earth.
I don’t think any of you can judge or imagine what it’s like living here;

  • Repeated sirens
  • Home Front Command instructions to remain  in protected areas
  • Hamas’s takeover attempts of television broadcasts and their distribution of Horror Videos
  • All TV programs cancelled and only the news is on
  • Everyday cultural events cancelled along with almost empty streets

Today around 12 PM a massive explosion was heard in the streets of Tel Aviv, my city.
explosive charge was placed on a bus and exploded after the terrorist managed to escape.
Yes, Dozens of people are killed in Gaza as well. It’s true. It doesn’t mean that me, my family, my friends and my neighbors are now  free to be murdered.
Not a person in the world could or should live like this.
World, help us – STOP THE TERROR!

Cross Post ‘My Country is Under Attack. Do You Care?’ by: Arsen Ostrovsky 10/24/2012

I’m angry that in 2012, over 600 rockets have already been fired from Gaza with no end in sight. I’m angry that the world only notices when Israel undertakes its (sovereign) right to defend its citizens. Can you imagine if even one rocket was fired on Washington, London, Paris or Moscow? No nation on earth can, or should, tolerate such attacks on its people.

I’m angry that while the United Nations never hesitates to call a ‘special emergency session’ on the ‘Question of Palestine’ or pass the umpteenth resolution blindly condemning Israel, that I am still waiting for a session on the ‘Question of Israel’ and Palestinian terror. In fact, 24 hours after the rocket attacks started, I am still waiting for even one syllable of condemnation from the UN Security Council, the UN General Assembly or Navi Pillay, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

I’m angry that there are those who continue to call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against the Jewish State, but are silent in the face of Palestinian terror.

I’m angry that ships and flotillas continue to set sail for Gaza to show ‘solidarity’ with the Palestinians, but where is their solidarity with the people of southern Israel?

I’m angry that while human rights organizations like Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, Oxfam and others do not waste a single opportunity to condemn Israel for human rights violations against the Palestinians, the human rights of Israelis are seemingly not important enough for them. Is Jewish blood really that cheap?
I’m angry that mainstream newspapers like the New York Times, lead their stories about the rocket attacks with such headlines as “Four Palestinian Militants Killed in Israeli Airstrikes,” and not “Palestinian Terrorists Rain Down Over 80 Rockets against one million Israelis.”

I’m angry that there is someone out there who does not know me and has never met me, yet still wants to kill me — for no other reason than being Israeli.

I’m angry when I hear residents in southern Israel say “we just lie on top of our children and try to protect them with our bodies” or that “we’re living on borrowed time” — yet the world seems oblivious to their desperate cries for help.

No, I am not angry. I am outraged.

What happens when you take a little blonde and sweet-looking girl, dress her in “love” and “peace” shirts, and instruct her to to throw around over-dramatic crying and screaming?
you got it! An excellent, well-photographed News provocation!

IsraellyCool and Elder of Zion, two of my favorite bloggers, came up with this fantastic video showing how one little girl, with a proper guidance, can get so many news items by systematically provoking and teasing soldiers again and again for months – But only when there are rolling cameras around…

Before watching the next video, all must be seated and take a moment to breathe in and out slowly.
you’re about to watch a real life insanity. now, push play.
CodePink is a group of anti war women activists who, by idea, has a beautiful world-peace agenda, if somewhat eclectic.
By practice, I would have to call them a bunch of girls seeking attention who’s long forgotten their values and would do anything to get a news headline anywhere.
It only takes one watch at the bridezillas video to make you wonder.
The way I understand it, these girls’ agenda and morals are simply not  strong enough  to reach crowd and attention;
or perhaps they’re insecure about them. Either way,  they appear to have had to turn to extreme measures.
and by extreme measures I mean making a complete fools of themselves trying to cause a provocation after realizing their point isn’t solid and can be argued very easily.

This last August CodePink showed up at the RNC Convention dressed up as huge Vaginas, claiming that’s what will make woman be proud to be females.
Well, News flash dear protesters, neither dressing up as brides or gigantic lady parts  will make me feel proud to be a female, my mind will do just fine and so will my mouth.
Real activists will have strong solid statements and will not have to use provocations or embarrass themselves so that they will be heard.
BDS leaders and activists tend to make a lot of noise around what they consider “successful” campaigns, i.e. affirmation of specific calls for boycott. One of their main targets are Israeli products, and more specifically items produced in the Palestinian/ occupied territories.
A recent example is the plan to change the labeling of these products in South Africa, A prospect that sent the BDSers to celebrate with joy – Online and offline.
What they probably don’t take into account is the fact that these factories they call to boycott and shut down, pay salaries to thousands (around 15,000) of Palestinian workers, receive social benefits and the same paychecks as the Israeli workers.
I simply cannot understand this call for boycott. Are thousands of families and individuals becoming unemployed a good thing? Will the fact that they will lose their source of income a reason to celebrate? Is the unholy principle of boycott more important than actual people, with actual lives (Not internet “personas”) being fired?
Take for example the Lipski Plastic Industries factory, located in the Barkan Industrial Zone. There are 80 workers in this factory, 40 out of which are Palestinian. But apparently these concerned workers are simply not part of the BDSers’ plan. No-one cares about them losing their jobs.
The away I see it, these factories are small colonies of co-existence, places where Jews and Arabs work together. I don’t see the sense in boycotting (And hoping to shut down) these places.
Has anyone heard of a campaign calling to buy Palestinian produce’ rather than boycotting? Of course not, because BDSers believe that hate and destruction are more effective than cooperation and debate
The more I look into this issue’ the more I feel that the BDS activists have, in fact, no real desire of peace and that will do anything in their power to avoid it – As long as their self-righteous facade is kept in tact.

*Although this is not a recent topic, I decided to write on the subject after coming across some Tweets comparing once again Israel with Nazi Germany.

One rhetoric claim of Anti Israeli movements (Namely BDS) is that the methods and actions used by the IDF to handle the Israeli – Palestinian conflict are similar to those used by the Nazi Regime

This unfounded claim is used cynically to mislead those who don’t know the history and facts of the conflict.
Let’s get the record straight!

While it was the official Nazi philosophy to Annihilate individuals and races they saw as inferior, which included: Jews, Romani-Gypsies, the physically and mentally disabled, homosexuals, blacks, Jehovah’s Witnesses and political opponents – the IDF has never had such a policy.

In fact, the IDF recruits diverse population; Jews obviously, Muslims, Christians, Druze, gay, straight, physically and mentally disabled, and many other ethnicity and backgrounds.

A great Video made by our Friend at SpeedyMedia, it illustrates BDSers rhetorics on the subject and Disproves it.

If they insist on comparing…

Also, Nazi Germany has never had an Issue of surviving among nationalities who wish to destroy it, in fact it wasn’t even at war on it’s first few years.
As much as Anti-Israel activists would like to say it wasn’t, The IDF was born out of an existential need, and Not out of a sadistic need to kill or ” Ethnically cleanse” ,like BDSers like calling it so much. Obviously the comparison is not aligned with any known historical fact.

Nazi Germany had Systematically exterminated 6,000,000 Jews, between 220,000 to 1,500,000 Romani-Gypsies , 200,000 physically or mentally handicapped men and women, an estimate of 100,000 men were arrested for homosexuality!  For sure no one in their right mind thinks Israel seeks to execute any of the above…

What’s more, Israel is the No.1 Provider of food and medicine to Gaza and West Bank.                                                    let’s face it- it’s in no way comparable to the Holocaust.

Sure, it’s easier to just Shock your audience with horrific, often fake, images and outrageous comparisons, than to run a (relatively) civilized discussion of facts and ideas. That’s probably why web BDSers will continue doing that.
